Along the way, archaeology buffs will appreciate the aqueduct and the site of Oudna, a Punic city that became Roman. The villa known as ‘Laberii’, with its thirty rooms covering 2,300 m², is worth a special visit for its mosaics, a well-preserved archaeological site including an astonishing amphitheatre that could once seat 20,000 spectators. Next, we visit the Andalusian medina of Zaghouan, finishing with a visit to Thuburbo Majus, an ancient Roman city that declined in the mid-3rd century before a brilliant renaissance in the 4th century, leading it to proclaim itself Respublica Felix Thuburbo Majus.
